Mit dem 20mm f/4 Zero-D Shift Objektiv präsentiert LAOWA ein weiteres Weitwinkel-Shiftobjektiv für Voll- und Mittelformatkameras. Es bietet hervorragende optische Eigenschaften und technische Features. Der Bildwinkel beträgt enorme 94,4 Grad, bei einer kompletten Shift-Panoramaaufnahme 117 Grad. Das entspricht einer Brennweite von ca. 13mm. Dank einer maximalen Verschiebung von bis zu +/- 11mm bei Vollformat ist dieses Objektiv perfekt für die Architekturfotografie geeignet. Beim Mittelformat beträgt die Verschiebung an der X-Achse ebenfalls bis zu +/- 11mm und an der Y-Achse bis zu +/- 8mm.
Selbst sehr hohe Gebäude können damit ohne stürzende Linien abgebildet werden. Shiften wäre zwar heute auch nachträglich per Bildbearbeitung möglich, aber das Bild würde dadurch beschnitten und so der Vorteil des großen Bildwinkels reduziert. Außerdem erspart dies Arbeit und die Qualität des Originals bleibt erhalten. Das 20mm f/4 Zero-D Shift ist ein weiteres Objektiv der erfolgreichen LAOWA Zero-D-Serie, mit der Fotografen Bildergebnisse mit geraden Linien ohne Verzeichnungen erhalten. Diese optische Höchstleistung und eine großartige Schärfe wird dank 16 Elementen in 11 Gruppen mit 2 sphärischen und 3 ED Elementen erreicht. Die Naheinstellgrenze mit nur 25 cm erlaubt beeindruckende Nahaufnahmen, wobei die Brennweite von 20mm für eine im Weitwinkelbereich sehr natürliche Perspektive sorgt. Die hochwertige Linsenbeschichtung wurde ebenfalls noch mal verbessert, um neben der bereits signifikanten Verringerung der chromatischen Aberration, Flares und Ghosting noch weiter zu minimieren. Dank der 14 Blendenlamellen ergibt sich bei Aufnahmen gegen die Sonne oder eine punktförmige Lichtquelle ein sehr schöner 14-strahliger Sonnenstern. Die eingebaute Rotationsfunktion ermöglicht es Fotografen, die Änderung der Shift-Verschieberichtung ins Hochformat im Handumdrehen vorzunehmen. Der Mechanismus steht für komplette 360 Grad zur Verfügung, wobei das Objektiv alle 15 Grad einrastet.
Ein weiteres Highlight ist die drehbare Gegenlichtblende, die sich gezielt in die Richtung des einfallenden Lichts drehen lässt, um unerwünschte Reflexionen zu vermeiden. Dadurch, dass die Front kein kuppelförmiges Glaselement hat, können Schraubfilter mit 82mm Durchmesser verwendet werden.
