Enne Hockenheimi viimast võidusõitu olid nad juba võitnud meeskondade meistrivõistluse, mis pakkus rohkem põnevust kui oodatud. Suur kokkupõrge jättis taaskäivitamiseks võimeliseks vaid 12 autot. Vähendatud väljakuul kuulus Lõuna-Aafrika juht Sheldon van der Linde kolmandale kohale ja võitis seega 2022. aasta DTM-i meistritrofee.

Kodune tuline meistrivõistluste sõit
2022. aasta DTM-hooaja meistrivõidu nimel peetav lahing jäi pingeliseks kuni viimase võidusõiduni Sheldon van der Linde, Marco Wittmanni ja René Rasti vahel. Carrera ringraja omanikud otsustavad lõplikud tiitlitulemused ainult oma juhtimisoskustega.
