Go ahead and try different options: the impact of each preset is instantly visible through the electronic viewfinder (EVF) or the vari-angle touchscreen.

Bright, high-res EVF
The EVF activates when you bring the camera to your eye – showing you exactly how your photos and videos will look. You'll see the impact of setting changes or Picture Control presets in real time, and you can customize which info appears in the viewfinder or hide it all for a pure view.

Vari-angle monitor
You can navigate the Z50II as easily as you navigate your smartphone. Simply touch the vari-angle monitor to position focus, change settings, and more. If you're shooting vertical photos or videos, the image and camera menus automatically rotate for comfortable viewing and operation.

The large 3.2" vari-angle touchscreen is perfect for self-portraits or first-person video perspective, as well as for vlogging and livestreaming. Whether you shoot with the monitor high, low or flipped to face you, the crisp display will give you a clear view of the scene.

Incredible-looking video content
Want to create better videos? This camera’s stunning image quality and powerful video capabilities will take your content to the next level. The Z50II captures richly detailed 4K UHD/30p video footage, oversampled from 5.6K. You get greater detail and greater creative flexibility than with a smartphone. If you want to apply a Picture Control or Imaging Recipe to your video footage in-camera, you can shoot in SDR. If you’re beginning to experiment with the look and feel of your footage, shooting in N-Log embeds more colour information into the data so you get more flexibility to create the look you want when using editing software. For fast action sequences you can film 4K/60p video in crop mode. Or you can add dramatic impact to your video with smooth Full HD (1080) slow-motion footage recorded at 120p.

Better vlogging
Whether you’re new to vlogging or you’ve been doing it for a while, the Z50II mirrorless camera can help turn up the production value on your vlogs with sharper, clearer, more flattering footage. The front-facing vari-angle monitor is a boon for solo content creators. Touch controls make it easy to start and stop recording, and you can set the video self-timer for 2 or 10 seconds to create a delay before you start speaking. If the red recording light on the front of the camera is on, and you can see a red frame around the image on the monitor, you’re recording! If you’re walking and talking, Nikon’s powerful Electronic Vibration Reduction helps nail steady handheld shots. The camera’s intelligent face- and eye-detection AF will keep the focus on you, and NIKKOR Z prime lenses excel when it comes to creating flattering depth of field.

External mic and headphone sockets
Not forgetting about the sound, the Z50II mirrorless camera comes equipped with two key sockets: a 3.5 mm stereo mini-pin jack for an external microphone and a 3.5 mm headphone jack so you can monitor the output of the microphone. Other in-camera options to optimize your audio include wind noise reduction and an onboard attenuator to help prevent distortion when filming in loud environments. Ideal if you’re vlogging out on the street or recording interviews at events.

Easy streaming
Livestreaming, video conferencing, even gaming. You’ll look your absolute best when you stream with the Z50II and a high-quality NIKKOR Z lens instead of the camera on your computer, smartphone, or tablet. It couldn’t be easier. Autofocus to rely on
  • Next-level shots. Advanced autofocus makes shooting effortless. Even if the scene is backlit, or you’re capturing small subjects against busy backgrounds, the Z50II will nail the focus and the track.
  • Reliable subject detection. People, dogs, cats, birds, airplanes, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and trains. The Z50II mirrorless camera can automatically recognise nine subject types, even from a distance.
  • Intelligent 3D tracking. With 3D tracking, it couldn’t be easier to follow unpredictable, fast-moving subjects like birds or animals. Focus is on-point, even if your subject is extremely small in the frame.

High ISO
The camera's wide light-sensitivity range goes all the way up to ISO 51200 (expandable to ISO 204800). Improved performance means colours and textures won't get lost, even when shooting in at higher ISOs.
