Also suitable for photography where users prefer to have manual aperture control. Manual aperture also benefits use of adapters to mount to other camera systems allowing manual aperture control. This manual aperture version also has 13 blades, (the auto version has 9)<br><br>The Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2:1 Ultra Macro APO Lens in Canon EF mount (MANUAL APERTURE) features full frame sensor coverage and focus from 2:1 magnification to infinity. Similar physical size to other 100mm Macro lenses on the market but the wider magnification range of Laowa 100mm allows macro photographers to capture subject at any size. A versatile lens that can equally be used as a portrait lens. Features an apochromatic (APO) characteristic that significantly reduces chromatic aberration. Houses an optical construction of 12 elements in 10 groups helping to deliver crystal sharpness in both macro and infinity distances. Suitable for Canon EOS EF mount cameras.<br><br><b>Twice life-size Magnification (2:1)</b><br>The 100mm APO f/2.8 2:1 Ultra-Macro is the second 2:1 Macro lens from Laowa - the first one was the 60mm f/2.8. 100mm is one of the most common focal length for macro photography usage. All of the 100mm macro lenses in the market can only reproduce 1:1 magnification (life-size) image only. The extended 2x magnification means more details can be seen through the lens. Photographers can now take advantage of the wider magnification range to capture bugs at different sizes.<br><br><b>Apochromat APO design (Minimal CA)</b><br>The Laowa 100mm f/2.8 has a Apochromat (APO) design where the chromatic aberration (CA) at BOTH in-focus & out-of-focus area (Longitudinal CA) is controlled to the minimal. CA has long been one of the most annoying aberrations for macro photography and now you can forget about this and focus more on taking a great shot.<br><br><b>Similar size as other 1:1 macro lenses</b><br>Despite the extended magnification range, the size of the Laowa 100mm is actually comparable to other macro lenses in the market.
