If you want to experience the best of Garmin navigation, the GPSMAP 276Cx is perfect for you. This navigation device provides accurate navigation instructions both off-road and on the water - no matter where the road takes you. The new 276Cx offers a host of advanced navigation features, without sacrificing any of the functionality of the original 276. With a 5-inch display, optimised sensors such as GPS+GLONASS, a barometric altimeter and 3-axis compass, comprehensive marine and outdoor functions and support for a wide range of map formats, the GPSMAP 276Cx is a strong successor in this legendary product series.
The 276 - a true experience
The GPSMAP 276Cx was developed based on the legendary GPSMAP 276C, one of Garmin's most versatile and powerful navigation devices. Garmin has retained much of the user interface to make it as similar as possible to the original 276. Even the buttons are the same as on the predecessor. Fans of the 276 will like the extensive customisation options of the navigation device, but the many functions that have been added to the original 276 device are also sure to please.
Optimised sensor technology
The sensor technology of the GPSMAP 276Cx has been extensively overhauled. GPS and GLONASS improve positioning in challenging environments. If you're using it in a vehicle, connect an external antenna (not included) to the MCX connector to optimise satellite tracking. For better situational awareness, a barometric altimeter provides altitude readings and a 3-axis electronic compass gives the correct bearing in all situations, even when you're not moving.
A user interface optimised for outdoor use
We know how important an optimally readable display is for navigation. That's why the GPSMAP 276Cx's display is now 5 inches, highly legible in sunlight and supports vibrant colours for better map viewing. Thanks to its size and great viewing angles, the display ensures that it is always clearly visible from a wide range of positions. In this way, the good readability and button operation allow safe operation even when mounted in a cockpit. This is true even when things are a bit bumpy, for example on a boat or in an off-road vehicle.
Robust and enduring
Familiar high Garmin standards guarantee exceptional performance of the device in almost any situation. Extremely robust and waterproof according to IPX71 and paired with an extensively tested mounting system. For more freedom, power the unit with more flexibility. Either connect it to the vehicle or boat power supply or use the lithium-ion battery pack (battery life of up to 16 hours) or 3 optional AA batteries (battery life of up to 8 hours).
More map material and more memory
The GPSMAP 276Cx has a compatible map for almost any destination you're heading to. The large 8GB internal memory comes preloaded with a worldwide basemap, a recreational map of Europe and a free annual subscription to BirdsEye satellite imagery. A variety of optional maps are also supported, including BlueChart g3 marine maps, Garmin TOPO and TOPO PRO maps, City Navigator, Garmin Custom Maps and BirdsEye Select raster maps. A microSD card slot allows you to expand the memory to load additional map material.
More navigation functions
With the appropriate maps installed, the GPSMAP 276Cx offers additional navigation features, such as a "Drive" mode for road navigation or winding road routing for motorcyclists, which favours smaller and winding roads. When used with TOPO PRO maps, the device can select from a range of recreational routing options and choose the appropriate type of road for each activity or vehicle. Those who prefer to navigate on routes and tracks are also catered for, as the new 276Cx supports advanced track navigation.
Advanced connectivity
The GPSMAP 276Cx also comes with some advanced online features. Pair the 276Cx with a Bluetooth headset to receive TTS voice prompts on your helmet. When paired with a smartphone1 , you can get active weather data2 that displays weather forecasts and an animated weather radar on the map page. Smart notifications such as emails, text messages, social network updates or LiveTrack are also supported so you can share your exact location with family and friends. The device can also connect wirelessly via ANT+ to external sensors, such as the tempe to get the outdoor temperature. Alternatively, you can connect via Wi-Fi to receive OTA updates and sync with Garmin Connect.
